I have been using Z-Wave devices in our home since 2016. With the release of the THREAD standard, I wanted to try out this new technology. I purchased two of these dimmer switches for the vanity and bath lights in the master. I also purchased an EVE brand THREAD capable motion sensor. I set the lights to turn on at a given brightness between 5AM and 9AM and a lower dimmer setting between 4pm and 9pm. Moving from Z-wave to Thread looks to be a good decision, the lights are very responsive to the motion detected by the EVE sensor with the added benefit with THREAD, that no internet access is required for interaction between the devices. Internet is of course still required for remote control. Now, I believe I will wait for the prices on the switches to drop as more manufacturers start producing THREAD capable devices.
