There have been many negative reviews about previous versions of the Neat scanner. I looked at one a few years ago and decided not to buy it. I'm very glad I waited. New very good product. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's worked great. I'm still looking into the machine and I'm sure there are features I haven't found yet, but I'm very happy with the purchase. It's a bit pricey, but if you deal with a lot of documents, I would recommend you to buy this product. If all you do is daily personal tax bills, this probably isn't for you. I work with 4000-8000 documents a year in my company and this is a great organizational tool. If your personal taxes fit in a small folder, you probably don't need it, but even with that, I'm sure it will help if you're willing to spend the money. Before you begin, you need to think carefully about how you want to organize your documents. It's not difficult, just think about it to save time in the future. I made this mistake and had to scan some of my documents. This is very important, but very versatile. I was concerned about the form feed speed through the scanner and paper jams. Remember how old fax machines fed multiple pages at once instead of feeding each page separately. This has never happened before. It's very fast. 16 pages are turned in seconds and they are very clear. I only use black and white. I'm sure the color would slow it down. I use it for my shop and don't need color but it's optional. It easily switches from single-sided to double-sided copying and is very fast at the same time. To sum it up, it works and it's a very handy tool.
