Review on Creative 70GH032000000 Blaster Detachable Noise Cancelling by Jon Dugan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hey, the cable didn't come loose!

I had a lot of budget headphones. I wear them to bed, to work, to play, etc. I spend a lot of time on every set I have. I bought these, like many other reviewers, because I felt the Fatality1 headset was a good budget set. As you can see from my headline, cable wear and the subsequent loss of one channel then another is a common affliction for me. The combination of long cords (great!) and stress at the point where the cord connects to the headset, which usually leads to premature failure (bad!), seems to have been eliminated here. (Notice my hedge?) But seriously, I'm as gentle as I can be with these things, and yet that connection is almost always a point of failure. I've had them since August 2018 and this set shows no signs of this very common condition. Where the headset fails to impress is the cheap volume/mic switch. It's not very high quality. I can't deduct a star for that as I just wrapped black tape around the possible problem. To be perfectly honest my young cat man thought it was a great chewing gum and I saw cooking issues. "The sound isn't the best if you've experienced higher quality audio, but given the low cost it's very good. Entry. The headphones also fit very well and are comfortable enough to use for 12 hours while coding. It is important. The microphone is good too. I'm not a gamer but I recorded my voice and it really sounds like me when played back. That's not the case with many budget headsets. In general, for such a price, there is nothing to complain about. If Creative had simply dropped the "inline remote with volume and mic controls," the set would have been improved and cost a little less to manufacture. This is victory! Summary: The cable is long and doesn't feel crazy. An integrated switch could be better. The sound is very good in this price range.
