Thought it came pre-assembled, but no it doesn't. It has everything necessary to put it together, including the two tools and all the hardware and screws. Instructions were very easy to follow, took about an hour total from start to finish. The wood is actually a hard pressed MDF, it's not cheap, and the vaneer is firmly pressed into each surface, no bubbles or peeling. The flip open door on top was a little lose after tightening, and needed to be realigned after the top was put on and tightened down. It's very sturdy, no wobble, as long as you line it up as you assembly the pieces together. Everything looks clean and presentable, very good product for the price. I wish I would of got two instead of one, or that they would sell them as a pair. Just having the one is odd, so I'm definitely getting another.
