In order to use Logitech peripherals, there are two software programs: Gaming Software and G HUB. I had my first one because I had previously used a G502 mouse, but he would not allow me to show him the headphones. Removed, installed G HUB, and put on headphones revealed very little sound. When "surround sound" is activated, the volume returns to normal, but the sound quality completely changes, making it impossible to listen to music, movies, or video games. I tried for a few days to adjust to it, but I failed. If the audibility of steps is still a consideration in competitive shooters, then everything else is poor. Scout Mode on vintage Creative devices comes close to this. Because of this, I removed the G HUB, reinstalled the gaming software, and it was then possible to live. The ears improved; they now function at regular loudness without the use of miraculous modes. Yes, location in games is a little poorer, but in "surround" and "game" modes, the head does not buzz due to increased frequencies. The music has once again become listenable in video games, albeit it still isn't as good as it was with headphones costing $1,000 from the discrete Sound Blaster Z. Games have also restored the balanced sound of interface components, music, and surroundings. For the same price, it's better than many wired options if you only play competitive online games (a good wire requires a strong sound system, which is included here). You can take it, but you should be ready for a struggle with settings if, like me, you play singles and listen to music while not wanting to turn off the noises of the menu and the surroundings. By the way, I purchased them virtually brand-new for two-thirds of the price from a person who did not use the program, but the G HUB's sound did not work for him at all. For push-to-talk, a microphone is sufficient, but not for voice activation like with any other headset.
