Review on Denon AVR-2113CI Networking Home Theater Receiver: AirPlay, Powered Zone 2 | Discontinued by Manufacturer by Michael Glassburn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Houston listener

I bought a Denon AVR-2113CI in August, the first one didn't work, no sound from the speaker terminals so I had to send it back. I would be a few days late from the last day to the return date so I called Revain and they were kind enough to delay it with no problem. The second receiver appeared just a couple of days later, this one worked, except for the output to the woofer, there is only one output and not 2 like regular speaker connectors, I don't see why they should be different. In any case, there is an alternative way to connect the woofer using the front left and right speaker output jacks and the woofer works great. Another not-so-great thing about this receiver is that it doesn't come with a Wi-Fi card like your smart TV does, which means you'll need to connect it to your router. Of course, my router wasn't in my living room where I installed the receiver, so I had to hire a technician to move the router (rewire, expensive work) so I could run a LAN line to the receiver. You cannot use Internet functions such as Pandora, Internet radio, etc. without a LAN cable. The included instruction CD (or you can download it) is fine. but hard to read and doesn't explain the features properly. I'm an engineer and I have to write technical papers all the time and I'm telling you nobody hires good technical writers anymore, the manuals for most items you buy these days are almost useless. Well enough cons, on the plus side it's a very sleek system with lots of features, my smart tv sounds fantastic with B&W speakers which I bought (not Revain) and the radio function is great too, I didn't find out how to use it all the bells and whistles still and whistles still struggling with zone (back to the poorly written manual). In general, I am satisfied with this, after the recipient has earned. I still haven't figured out how to use all the bells and whistles and am still struggling with Zone (back to the poorly written guide). In general, after the receiver has started working, I'm happy with them. I still haven't figured out how to use all the bells and whistles and am still struggling with Zone (back to the poorly written guide). In general, I am satisfied with this, after the recipient has earned.
