This ramp is for my almost 12 year old 47lb German Shorthaired Pointer. She has some weakness in her hind legs and jumped into the car with some difficulty and had rough landings when jumping. So I had my doubts that this ramp would work when I noticed that the side door of my 2004 Toyota 4Runner didn't open far enough for the ramp to be perpendicular to the side of the car. So I had to put the top of the ramp on the seat otherwise the edge of the door would cover part of the ramp. The first few attempts didn't look too promising as her hind legs slid sideways off the ramp due to her wide rear stance. But after about 10 treats, she seems to be fine! I have to hold the ramp to make sure it doesn't fall off the sides and that the ramp is resilient. I was surprised how heavy the ramp was. But I think it will eventually work and save her joints and my back as she gets older.
