Review on SteelSeries Arctis Prime Gaming Headset - High Fidelity Audio Drivers - Multiplatform Compatible by Xander Kio Zion ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

I bought headphones for esports disciplines, as I play APEX and Warzone. After Hyper X Cloud Core is unusual, as there are a lot of highs and little bottom, but this feature has one very significant reason: excellent positioning. When I mean excellent, it means that in APEX you can accurately track opponents by sound, very accurately determine the direction of steps and the distance to the player. In Warzone, in these headphones, the sounds of aircraft and gunfire have ceased to beat on the ears, and even in the heat of battle, you can start to sweat over the sound. Headphones are definitely not for audiophiles, although the Creative G3 equalizer allows you to make them a tool for drying music, but this is still not their forte. Their forte is shooters. Here they are almost perfect. They sit well, tightly, but during long gaming sessions they do not cause discomfort. The microphone is directional, it sounds very decent, only separate microphones are better. The ear pads, despite the leatherette, sit very well, fit snugly, the ears do not sweat in them. They look stylish. Stylists have a craze for wacky connector form factors, and these headphones are no exception. This is generally not a problem, but if the wire fails, you will have to buy the original one. There was also a problem with sound penetration into voice chats (discord) when connected via a splitter. As far as I understand, this is a common problem with single-cable headphones. It is treated by removing the splitter, although it is my sound card that is on the table, and I can afford it, since the wire is short, others may have problems. In my opinion, the knobs / switches are not very well located here - on the back of the left earpiece. You catch them almost every time you take off / put on your headphones. But you get used to it quickly enough, but still not pleasant. I recommend it to those who need a very high level of positioning in games. If this is not a priority for you, then you can take something simpler. But if you are an avid gamer and you need only the best - then these headphones are your choice!
