Review on 💻 Black Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II Multimedia Speaker System with BasXPort Technology - 2.0 for Enhanced Multimedia Experience by Iyan Iyan ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

I would like to take off a star for the hump trick, but I can’t - they are too good. I removed 4db in the 125Hz region with a software filter and the speaker system opened up in all its glory. Mid-highs are glossy, mid-lows are excellent, even the sub-bottom area is present, albeit nominally, but when you sit at the table it is quite readable, and that's enough. And in this size - just a fairy tale. It's not that you don't expect more, you can hardly expect even what you have. When I was trying to make music, I had enough of any sound at home: from Focal Twin 6 BE to KRK VXT, the last were Tannoy Reveal 502 as “everyday speakers”, and I can say that in blind listening at medium volume I can’t distinguish T40 from 502 or some other inexpensive 5 "monitors. Although no, I'll tell you. T40, unlike budget monitors, do not radiate AT ALL. Apparently, thanks to an external power supply. Yes, if someone went to look at prices for studio monitors, then they are sold by the piece :D All in all. I don't know what else to add. For me, the product is more than worth it, Microlabs and Edifers do not lie next to each other in terms of transparency and detail of the picture, Creative play in a completely different league. You just need to remember about the nuance with the frequency response and correct it immediately after connecting the speakers to the audio interface. And you will enjoy them.

Pros
  • Excellent sound picture for this size. Honest, almost monitor sound. An ideal choice for workplace voice acting, if you need to enjoy listening to music in the process or watching videos.
Cons
  • An attempt to disguise the absence of a full-fledged low-frequency register with a phase inverter hump in the region of 150 Hz is in vain. A cheap trick that causes a second wow effect, but greatly spoils the further impression of the speakers.
