I'm new to corsets (still) and this is my second one. I wanted to try one that didn't go over the bust and had plastic bones. The corset I received is as described and beautiful. The blue is a teal green satin with a lace pattern woven in. It's not as thick as the brocade corset I previously bought, but just as well made It's laced with black ribbon rather than a corset cord. I may have to change that if I use it frequently as planned. I'll wear through the ribbon. I had to loosen it to a 2 inch separation to make it fit me. I'm a medium in a steel boned one from the same company and ignored the suggestion to get the next size larger. If I really feel the need for a modesty panel, I can make one. I had no problems with the clips on the busk. As others report, it's tricky to get them hooked, but they're staying put once I have them clipped.I know these are fun-wear, but I came to them hoping to help my posture. I have a desk job and find myself slouching forward and leaning on my desk. This is taking a toll on my lower back. Shapers are too soft to support me the way I want. I found that wearing a corset under my clothes forces me to sit straighter and greatly reduces my back fatigue. I move too much and sit too far forward for most chair devices so I'm trying this instead and so far it's working. It doesn't hurt that these are also pretty and make me feel like I'm dressing up a bit.Update: I'm noticing that a lot of the complaints on corsets are due to trying to size them by bra or dress size. Some don't tell you what measurement is the most important so I can totally see why this happens. You need to know your actual waist in inches. If you go by anything else you'll get a corset that's too small or too big. My waist is 30" and I count down 2, which is a medium. Both my bust and dress size say I should order a small. I'm loosening the laces on a medium. I can only imagine how a small would fit! Just remember what this garment is supposed to do. It shapes and cinches the waist. That's the measurement you need to go by when choosing size.
