Review on πŸ“· Logitech C920 960-000767 HD Pro Webcam - USB Interface by Jnis Zari ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is acceptable.

The highly problematic software, improperly installed drivers, and outdated version of Skype that resulted in a pixelated image of my caller left me feeling dissatisfied shortly after purchasing the C920. First, the C920's fastening system is a significant improvement over its predecessor. 2) autofocus - C920 is more savvy with it, occasionally twisting a bit before returning to normal operation. Third, the picture is nearly identical while the lights are on, but it degrades dramatically when the lights are out. 5) Low-light image noise is reduced in the C920 due to improvements in the driver. 6) the mic is decent, it picks up my whisper during the Skype test, and I was informed it sounded better than the Plantronics GameCom 777 gaming headset (I highly doubt this, but I'll double-check anyhow). Although the C920 has a smaller sensor (wherever for some reason they swear that it is smaller, I have no idea how it really is), I concluded that it is truly a work on the bugs. The camera performs admirably after the appropriate drivers have been installed (or, ideally, not installed at all, allowing the OS to make use of its own). Crashes are an indication of improperly installed drivers. Note that it is possible that a merchant will not accept the return of a webcam, and that at most they will offer to swap it for a different model. They aren't quality controlled either, therefore it's best to buy from places that have exhibition examples available.

Pros
  • autofocus, mounting, layout, and extended cord
Cons
  • I wouldn't recommend installing the drivers from the manufacturer's website if your only intention is to use Skype on the device.
