Review on πŸ“· Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens with Auto Focus: Perfect for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Anand John ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is ok on the whole, it has some small flaws.

After 200 shots, some kind of sensor broke, after which the lens stopped focusing. Of course, this happened in the midst of a commercial shoot! Luckily, I had a replacement with me. Repaired in the service 1 month. At 1.4-1.6, the depth of field is so small that you can only shoot an object - small objects. In the portrait, it turns out like this: the model slightly turns her face, focus on the eye, and the second blurs into minced meat - yes, right into minced meat! If you move away to increase the flu, then the focus is likely to miss. At 1.8-2.2, getting into sharpness in a full-length portrait is also a big problem. It turns out that its luminosity is of little use in practice. Slow focus. The lens requires very thoughtful shooting and getting used to all its features. I think that it is not at all suitable for beginners and reportage shooting. It can give a very cool result, but I get too much marriage with him.

Has pros: LIGHT! I personally like bokeh :) Good assembly despite China and equipment. Cons: Until I noticed. Well, if only it often smears at 1,4, which is quite natural with such a small depth of field

the glass is just gorgeous. I advise everyone.

Convenient for reporting, but you should not expect something supernatural from such glass. No matter how hard you try, you won't get sharpness. I'm talking about that very "ringing" sharpness.

Some pros: Soft pattern and bokeh, perfect for a cropped portrait. Cons: a little slow on my purely IMHO (most likely it was just the nimble 105 / 2,8 VRII that spoiled me)
