Review on 📡 Superior Performance and Reliability: Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-PRO WiFi System by Brian Martin

I tried these APs because of their price. I will continue to use them exclusively on our corporate network due to the ease of installation. I can't say enough about how great the experience was with them at this price point. We have a Dell Sonicwall and the extra APs they sell (SonicPoints) seem like a good deal, but they're way overpriced (and visually less flashy) compared to those devices. Pros: - Very easy network setup, especially when deployed to multiple devices. websites (ask questions if you need help, but that's not bad at all) - So far (9 months) no crashes with a mix of UAP-LR and UAP-PRO - Mostly intuitive user interface - Excellent network coverage (customer will not connect to can connect to an access point, not the other way around) - great for network expansion (firmware updates are downloaded automatically after a controller software update, and wireless downlinks (though not ideal) work well when needed). - Software controller. Not necessarily the biggest, but it can be hosted on anything (home users - any laptop or PC; business users - I run mine in a virtual machine running 4 other services). It can be near anything, and it doesn't matter if it needs to be temporarily disabled. Access points retain their network settings after deployment, so if you need to take the controller offline, the wireless network stays intact. The web services run on port 8080, so while I'm not publicly redirecting this, it goes without saying that you don't even necessarily need a VPN connection to manage it. (but the Edgewitch wasn't an option when I started using them; I ended up buying their carrier model with a rackmount hardswitch. The Edgeswitch, while not yet on sale, looks like it will fix all of my setup's shortcomings). No problem unless you're trying to deliver POE from a rack and they come with the required POE injectors, which is something to keep in mind. - Ceiling mount locking bracket. old mounts had a cam lock from which you could easily remove the access point. The new ones have a spring loaded tab that is incredibly frustrating to remove once installed. Small note but when you get it down it will be a cam lock as you have to use a screwdriver to crush the tab. May need to be changed before installation. Conclusion: I can't stress enough how easy the installation process was for them and how excited I am to get started with Ubiquiti products. It was a delight, both in the overall maintenance of the software and the overall ease of installation.
