Not a bad product, but you can find better.

As for reliability, I can not say anything, while it works and there are no problems. For those who care about the absence of vibration and low noise in operation, it is better to pay attention to 7200 hard drives manufactured by Seagate. Different pros: Inexpensive, the most affordable in its price segment, without auto-parking heads when idle, but the hdparm command is processed, WD gives an error on the command to disable parking. The ideal condition of the surface of the plates, there are no sectors of 200ms, but such a result was from the second attempt to scan in Victoria for DOS, 33 sectors of 200ms came out for the first time. Apparently the bank warmed up, and there was a false positive for the first time. Less heating ~ 29-30 degrees, I attribute it to the error of the temperature sensor, on Seagate it is fixed closer to the drive motor, since there are many times fewer open areas for fixing it to them. I found a bug in the firmware, the attributes (C0) Unsafe Shutdown Count and (C1) Load Cycle Count do not match the number of real turns on (0C) Power Cycle Count, for this reason it can be erroneously concluded that the disk is parked, due to large attribute values ( C1), the growth of the latter is chaotic. Has cons: A very strong level of vibration, noticeable wave vibrations in the case and on an open stand, I almost broke my head while making friends with other disks in the case. In my experience, this is the disk with the strongest vibration, its sister model with a similar vibration background WD10EZEX "Blue", the disk itself has no mechanical defects, most likely this is a manufacturing feature, such a balancing curve. The read/write speed is below competing models and is: maximum ~ 185 MB/s, minimum ~ 85 MB/s, random access: 18.8ms. The case is of standard thickness, Seagate's 1TB is thinner and better cooled. The sound of head positioning (seek) is clearly audible on an open stand, unlike Seagate, where positioning is absolutely inaudible.
