Review on Black Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia πŸ’» Speakers with 3.5mm AUX & PC Input for PC by Adam Joks ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average quality of the product, especially for the money.

Bought without listening, guided by a large number of rave reviews. Assembled with high quality, the materials are good, the volume knob rotates with such a pleasant "premium" effort, they look minimalistic but cool. The main disadvantage is the sound: at first glance, it is interesting and it really seems that the speakers are larger in size, but the wow effect that everyone here is vying to write about is achieved by the built-in and non-switchable proprietary TrueSpace surround sound system. Yes, the sound is surround, but the tonal balance is distorted, and the scene is unrealistic. This artificially created volume may catch the average user, but if you are used to hi-fi class equipment, then this pair is strongly contraindicated for you. You may remember how in the 90s they began to sell radio tape recorders and music centers with the effect of expanding the stereo base β€œsound around”, and so this is something similar, at first you are surprised, and then you realize that you won’t listen like that for a long time, quickly tires and pulls you towards classic stereo sound. I did not expect hi-fi sound and killer bass from this budget hundred-dollar acoustics, but I expected sane stereo sound, with a pleasant mid-high range and satisfactory low frequencies, so that I could listen to music in the background while surfing sites. Alas, I could not withstand this exaggerated sound for a long time, I had to part with the acoustics. Tip - be sure to listen before buying, preferably on familiar recordings, and then decide whether you like this sound or not.

Pros
  • Compact, build quality, recognizable brand, surround sound will appeal to most users
Cons
  • Connoisseurs of classic stereo will definitely not like this most surround sound, there is no tone control and the option to turn off surround sound
