Description of Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB turntable black

The Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB is a professional direct drive turntable with manual controls. This model is equipped with an S-shaped tonearm with adjustable anti-skating force. The built-in phono stage will make it possible to connect the player directly to any amplifier. Three rotation speeds are supported - 33 1/3, 45 and 78 revolutions. One of the features of this player is the smooth adjustment of the speed in the direction of increasing or decreasing within 8% or 16%. The shell is equipped with a new version of the 95th cartridge, the elliptical needle of which provides accurate and detailed sound of music. A USB-B digital output provides connection to a computer, and RCA connectors make it easy to choose interconnects.

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I read a lot of reviews, both good and bad, but I honestly don’t know who the device didn’t go in, someone changed the head, etc., I have a musical ear, a music school, etc., temporarily connected a pioneer to the line output through an old receiver, took a vintage Alice record Block of Hell and what was my surprise at the quality and detail of the sound, I really did not even expect that there could be a sound with such detail, density, character. The result is a sound beyond praise, it is…

Pros
  • The device is made very high quality, the weight is impressive, even tactilely everything is at a very high level.
Cons
  • For me, definitely not.

In order to unleash the potential of this turntable, you need an external phono stage and replacements for the standard head. I installed a Shure V15 III head with a needle from JiCO, complete with a tube phonic - it plays very well. Different pros: A good entry level van. The main advantage is direct drive. The kit comes with a good tonearm of medium sensitivity. The standard VM95E head is rather weak, but just right for such a table price. Has some cons: The built-in phono stage leaves much…

After two weeks of flawless operation, the first unit finally gave out. That's the lever for raising your arm. I decided to try my luck with a second. I went for it and am glad I did. The flight was routine when I put in an orthophonic Blue-head, cork slipmat, and VsSvet microtube phono stage. This is a functional and reasonably priced tool for getting started with vinyl, virtually a "Kalashnikov assault gun" (only not an automatic machine and not . in a word, as in the saying about "samurai…

Pros
  • The most sophisticated feature of the AT-LP120 is its ability to have RCA outputs instead of a fixed cable and to disable the internal phono stage (not bad to interrupt for a while). Plenty of room for improvement (change cables, head, connect an external phono stage). A replica with a different filling than the original, famed Technics. Superb layout (although this is not the main thing).
Cons
  • The tonearm height can't be changed (not all cartridges will fit, although you can play a little bit with the thickness of the slipmat). Due to its low cost and plastic mechanics' inherent instability (affects the amount of mechanical defects). The process is entirely manual.

For a long time I wanted a normal turntable after a ten-year break with Concert-304 > 2022-323 > Vega-206. And in order not to bathe with capacitors, and other containers, which are characterized by drying out and non-solder in Soviet technology. Approached. Maybe later, someday, I will change the needle to a variant with a Shibuya sharpening or something similar, but now there is no need for this a priori, the device itself does not bring any "gifts" from itself into the sound, the main thing…

Pros
  • Direct drive, and quartz speed compliance - no need to think about belts, the speed is always linear, and can be adjusted; Support 78 rpm; Head holder and pickup head (quite normal) in the kit - no need to run anywhere to buy something, everything is already set up at the factory
Cons
  • Short RCA cord - 20 centimeters, probably enough butt The needle holder in the pickup head is made of aluminum (well, the cantilever is aluminum, as the reviews tell us without designation, what does this mean and what is it for) - easy to bend, scary to break - be careful There is no hitchhiking and auto-ascent at the end of the disc, I immediately remembered Unitra G-602, that one even had a hitchhiking.

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

The best for your money. Suitable for both listening and DJing. Some pros: Functionality, kit, classic design, there is a built-in phono stage, a normal "needle" in the kit. Diode lighting. Has cons: The axis of the disk slightly winds "eight", there is no adjustment of the height of the tonearm.
