The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

I got it last summer-autumn, the lens makes an indelible impression and introduces the buyer into the world of very high-quality images, someone will say that into the world of Elek) After him, many people have a desire to shoot only with glasses like him, and this is definitely good. I use both on digital and on film - flawlessly! It is not worth comparing with others, because this is blasphemy, and the price tag is already different there . I rent a lot of them and am not going to change…

Pros
  • -The weight. which sometimes turns out to be decisive in the fight against shaking, I use a monopod and I don’t know troubles) -constructive. it's very nice to realize that in conjunction with a good camera they don't give a damn about weather conditions, just wipe the drops from the protective glass and shoot further . - ease of use. after which many lenses simply begin to dislike their ergonomics. everything is clear here. - Capabilities of shooting and image quality. the picture that turns out at F4 is very pleasing even when viewed in the camera, what can we say if you press the aperture to 7-9 ! there's just a song - full control of the details in the picture!
Cons
  • I’m not going to write about aperture and stub, but there are simply no others. and yet I will mention the white color of the case (I have already partially covered it with a dark film), well, the lens hood scares me) - inelegant and rough, it lies at home, I don’t use it. Nevertheless, it has been on sale for 13 years, I don’t think that a bad thing would have such a production time .

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

I took as a replacement Canon EF 28-135 mm F / 3.5-5.6 IS USM, for shooting sports reports. For these purposes, it is much more convenient, better and more reliable - "not a trunk." The ability to use it as a portrait was a "nice bonus". The only inconvenience is the lower limit of focus. It is not convenient for them to shoot general shots, but he was not created for this either.

Pros
  • L-quality Canon lenses. It is convenient to use as a telephoto, when shooting wrestling, boxing. Good portraiture. Reliable, strong enough, which is very important for a "reporter's" lens.
Cons
  • the absence of a stub, the white color of the pipe, the shape of the hood - for me these are not disadvantages. aperture, yes, perhaps its lack will manifest itself when shooting "dynamics" indoors, . in low light. in this case 2.8, and stam is optional.

Quite good, but I expected more from it.

Alas, I do not earn money in the photo and therefore I am limited in finances. When buying, I wanted to take a high-quality zoom and portrait lens in one + convinced me to try "ELKA". The lens did not cope with any role. On FF cameras, this lens is probably what you need, but not on crop. I don't like this lens. And I categorically dislike Kenon's marketing policy regarding optics. The lens was sold for six months. Among 3-4 similar proposals, there were few chances to sell. I had to drop…

Pros
  • - A very good picture. Just delight! And of course, there is no talk of any chromatism. - The design of the lens is thought out excellently: The body is monolithic, focusing and zoom are internal - dust does not threaten under the lenses, autofocus range switch. - Constantly there is an offer for sale in the secondary market - you can save. Periodically found for 1/2 price - you can save WELL.
Cons
  • - This lens is not for crop. Too big. Too uncomfortable. As a station wagon - complete slag. As a portrait lens more suitable, there are certain advantages, but also without enthusiasm (f4 still affects). And where is it? - Draws too much attention. It is felt. At first I was embarrassed by coloring. After six months of use, I stopped paying attention. Then I got tired of listening to "Oh! Elka" to the gnashing of teeth. Because of the striped coloring, you feel like a walking advertisement for canon. - Likes only expensive filters. I don’t know how this was achieved, but inexpensive filters (I had a dikom and a couple of measurements in the store) Perceptibly spoil the detail. I have a lens with pixel-by-pixel sharpness and it is under a Chinese filter. THIS glass is not tolerated by China.

I took it as a second lens, I already have a fast aperture Canon 24-70 / 2,8 (Canon arkII 5D carcass). Already at the first experimental use as a reporter and portrait photographer, he showed an excellent result: gorgeous sharpness, focusing speed, beautiful colors and background blur. I am very pleased with the build quality of the lens and its relative lightness. When shooting, I would recommend having a tripod with you, although with some experience you can get excellent results, especially…

Pros
  • L glass, light, fast, build quality, sharp
Cons
  • Actually no

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

Here, many write in the minuses about the absence of a stub and dark 2.8)) Well, there is no point in talking about this at all, there is the same lens with a stub much more expensive, but there is also a 2.8 hole and the same with a stub, which is almost four times more expensive than the one we are considering here, what are we talking about, everyone who bought this one compared it with others similar, but more expensive. When I took it, I knew and accepted its characteristics for myself…

Pros
  • Great lens for your money
Cons
  • I didn’t find any significant ones precisely based on the price for this lens.

Perfect product for any user!

When buying a 7D camera, the kit included 18-55IS. I can’t say anything bad about the whale lens, but I realized that I began to miss it, and after a couple of weeks, after a long search on the Internet and reading reviews, I decided to purchase the 70-200mm 4L USM. I chose between Tamron 2,8, but the Tamron blurred the picture by 200mm, I don’t know, maybe I just got such an instance. I’ll say right away that we decided on the choice in advance, they just persuaded me to look at the tamron in…

Pros
  • First L-class lens I have purchased. I am very pleased with the purchase, because in my opinion the price / quality of this glass is simply excellent. The glasses are very sharp. USM focusing, now I only buy glasses with it, focusing on 7D is very fast. On the street, the pictures are simply magnificent. I use it as a portrait lens, the drawing is simply gorgeous in my opinion. Indoors blurs the picture due to the lack of a stabilizer.
Cons
  • For such a price / quality ratio and characteristics - they simply do not exist. Only crooked hands of a photographer can be! Many write in shortcomings that they say dark glasses, white color. My dears, these are not flaws, this is a feature of this glass. If you want brighter - take 2.8 only for completely different money. And the white color, I consider it an advantage, at least when covering events, I catch the envious glances of other photographers))

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

Excellent hiking and reporting telezoom. Relatively small, so convenient, you can quickly change from wide to zoom and back. Without a hood, it calmly fits into a bag for 24-105. stable characteristics. Vignetting was not observed. Sharpness at all focal lengths, you don’t need to think much about the quality of the picture. Very good for portraits too. In short, an almost perfect lens, unless you need some kind of special shooting. A very big success for Canon. As for aperture 4.0 - with Canon

Pros
  • Excellent pattern and very sharp, which is not typical for all lenses of the Canon L series. The backlight holds perfectly. Light and small for a professional 70-200, extremely convenient for travel.
Cons
  • Not detected. Truth. If only specifically to find fault, but it's not fair.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied, the purchase is quite successful.

Why did I write the focal length in the shortcomings? What can I say: Here in the description of "Kenon" it kind of neatly tells us that this is a moderately long-focus lens and then blah blah blah and what a drop-dead picture quality it has for such a price, and after all this is the "L" series where to go, grab it while there is a type. and without advertising, of course, about aperture equal to 4 over the entire interval. And so I rush to the store to buy my cherished lens, bought it…

Pros
  • build quality, lens hood, made in Japan, good and tenacious autofocus in my opinion, manual autofocus, iron and glass. The switch on the lens has two autofocus modes, at a short distance of the object and far. Beautiful bokeh. No "washers" soft plastic blur. beautiful color is not white, as in the photo, a little gray, but it looks beautiful.
Cons
  • focal length, filters are expensive for the "67" thread.

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

Great lens! If you are looking at lenses in this focal range, then I recommend this lens. The choice was between Tamron 18-270 and this model. As a result, I decided to take 2 Canon lenses. If you have to shoot mainly during daylight hours, then a stabilizer is not needed. Or a tripod, then look for a tripod heel. When shooting with the built-in flash, "red eyes" appear. The reason for this is the lens, because. it overrides the red-eye reduction lamp.

Pros
  • Probably the most important advantage is the price.
Cons
  • No stabilizer. When shooting with the built-in flash, red-eye cannot be avoided. At least on my 450D.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like the product, the quality did not disappoint.

In general, in my opinion, Canon created a series with an EF mount and aperture ratio of 4 and higher for FF as budget optics. In terms of picture quality, it is no different from the EF-S analogues in nature, in bright light. This is amateur optics, and you need to treat it accordingly. More advanced lenses come in at f/2.8 and below (not counting those that aren't L). After all, this 70-200 can really be replaced by 18-135 or 55-250 with a gain in zoom. In aperture they are all dark. I used…

Pros
  • Aperture, white color (for showing off), 67mm filters are popular and easy to find.
Cons
  • For this money, you can buy something more universal, for example, 18-135, the difference in quality is imperceptible. Flimsy body, heavy in the hand for their money. :)

A wonderful product, it's nice to use.

Bought along with the carcass (550d). There is no need to talk, but to use. The lens for its price is simply GORGEOUS! It was used as a portrait lens (although, to be honest, the FRs are not very convenient for a portrait) and a telephoto lens (which it is). I was pleased with the tenacity of autofocus, a little advice is written in the merits. Nothing loosens up, no backlash is observed after almost a YEAR of use (10 months on March 24). When buying, I recommend taking a UV filter. Protection,

Pros
  • -L series -Ease -Pleasant bokeh - Dust and moisture resistance - Tenacious AF - Case and lens hood included - Lack of backlash -Fast focusing (for sporting events, I recommend moving the "focus limiter" (as it was called in the 3d model) to the 3m-infinity label -More or less adequate price -Fixed Aperture (when encounter the situation, you will understand)
Cons
  • -White color, but apart from the fact that you stand out too much - I don’t consider it a disadvantage -All the same, 705 grams, and the center of gravity is shifting. But the tripod ring decides everything;)

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

The lens is generally good, nothing to say. Focus is fast and accurate. Sharp, which is sooo pleasing, only a little soapy at the ends, but given that it is without a stub, this is normal. Well, there is nothing to say about the case, undoubtedly flawlessly. The hood is nothing like this in the kit. In general, I am very satisfied.) I haven’t found any jambs yet) only now I’ll have to get used to it a bit)

Pros
  • - sharp - tricky trick - frame
Cons
  • - it's a pity that there is no stub. but how did they cope without it before.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Filmed them on 5D3. From the 1st frame I was surprised at the accuracy and speed of focusing - a minimum of misses, almost always exceptional detail. Neutral bokeh image without artistic swirling, but retaining the expressiveness of bright objects Before buying, for many years he considered it "L for the poor", because. this seems to be the cheapest model of the line. Perhaps for the poor, but Kenon's engineers did not save a lot on quality! The lens produces a picture close to ideal.

Pros
  • - exceptional sharpness from aperture 4 -excellent focusing - fast and accurate in tracking mode (I hardly use the other one) - light (who writes "heavy" - buy 28-300, feel the difference) - fully internal zoom and focus, edge lenses are always stationary -weather protection
Cons
  • - rings play a little bit, but this did not affect the quality in any way - DOF at f/4 can be too wide in rare cases -minimum focusing distance - 1.2m, sometimes you need closer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

I wanted 70-200 / 2,8 without a stub (because I carry a tripod all the time) . but due to lack of funds, I settled on this glass. While satisfied. The main thing is that it is light (everything is easier to carry from "classmates" in the mountains). The picture is somewhat different from 17-40 / 4 . warmer, or something. I was very pleased with the lens hood . Filmed a ski marathon. The weather is, frankly, disgusting. So the lens hood perfectly covered the glass from raindrops.

Pros
  • Price, weight, quite nimble, excellent for budget portraits
Cons
  • A lot is written about the fact that the lens hood is uncomfortable, smears often, filters are supposedly expensive . But this is not it. Karinka, that's the main thing. I saw an unpleasant thing . the sharpness in the center seems to be very even nothing, but at the periphery it is decently lost.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

It so happened to me that I couldn’t try it on a Canon camera. There were two copies: the first shot on the Sony NEX 3N, and the second on the Sony a5000 On Sony cameras, it gives a very interesting picture and color reproduction - it turns out tastier and more fun than on Canon. I don't want to deal with this glass anymore After working with new Sigmas, insight comes as far as 4L is morally and technically. outdated

Pros
  • 1) Legendary model. From here follows the first fat plus: the design and ergonomics brought to perfection 2) The perfect balance of price and quality in the secondary market, one of the most liquid and in demand in the world 3) Very low level of chromaticity at F4 and complete absence from 5.6 - 6.3 4) Normal not oversharpened sharpness, but at the same time draws delicately and unobtrusively 5) High-quality, realistic - neutral color reproduction
Cons
  • 1) A large percentage of marriage! I came across one of these with a terrible, terrible skew of the depth of field - this is not a cure in services. When focusing on the center, the soap of the left edge is even on the crop, and vice versa, the center is soap and the edge is sharp! There are rumors on the forums that every second or third Elka is defective - almost all specimens have various kinds of decentering and imperfections in optics. So an outstanding copy, and not just a good one, still needs to be looked for. 2) The famous, Ugly plunger hood ET-74. Well, I can’t imagine why they have chosen such a lens hood design since 1999 and have not changed it. An elegant petal hood would look lighter and more harmonious 3) The lens is not artistic. Nikons from 2.8-4 are many times brighter, sharper and more expressive both in terms of pattern and bokeh 4) Weak micro detailing with good sharpness are two different things.
