They get dirty and show how bad the air really is. Works well. I've had my air purifier for years, it runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and it never turns off, the thing is just monstrous, and I always use these filters.

I bought these to replace the filters in my Holmes air purifier. After searching online for replacement parts that I originally bought with the air purifier, I found this to be a less expensive alternative. They look perfect, fit perfectly and work just as well as more expensive filters. Will definitely buy them again when it's time to replace them again!

I received these 2 filters in a plastic bag with no maker or brand in the box. They look just like the OEM filters and come with a carbon seal. The price is much lower than OEM, so no complaints. You'll have to use them for a while to see how they actually filter the air. Since they look the same as the original materials, I would expect them to perform as well or even better due to the addition of the activated carbon filter.

I am very happy with this replacement head. My 5 year old has multiple airborne allergies to grasses, pollen and ragweed. Now that they're all up in the air, we can't put them in a bubble. I decided to see if an old (about 10 year old?) Holmes air purifier would work, so I ordered one ahead of allergy season. They fit like a glove and are great for improving indoor air quality. If you have an older model or one that fits these I can recommend this brand. It also comes with an additional filter which I believe is an activated carbon filter which I also added. I was using a carbon filter and within a week the filters on my CPAP machine were clogged with what appeared to be black soot in 6 hours overnight. Racking my brains to figure out what was causing this, I concluded that it could be the activated carbon filter in my air purifier that was the only black thing in my room. Not recommended. I usually use Holmes brand filters and an old activated carbon pre-filter. They last about 1-2 months before we replace them (we use this air purifier in the room where the litter box is to keep odor and dust out). It's been over a month with these filters, the main filters themselves are still bright white and the charcoal filters are the only thing that catches dust. I myself am confused if they fit HAP412GN after reading the Q&A on this product and the reviews they are not but I took a risk , because the dimensions and appearance are stated that they would, and they do.
