This item is very difficult to open. The button is very difficult to open and even when pressed, the window does not open. I click multiple times to open this item. You'll see. Also, it's very slow and struggles to read DVDs just because they're a bit dirty, while other devices play them with no problems. The error buffering system this drive uses is terrible. I won't buy it in your case. Stay away from it. The buyer should be aware of this disc. I will experiment with it. Hope that helps

This OSGEAR Internal Slim 9.5mm SATA 3D 6X Blu-ray BD Combo Reader 50GB 100GB M-Disc DVDRW DVD CD RW ROM Laptop PC Optical Drive Tray Bootable Optical Drive fits perfectly in my Dell Desktop Computer Inspiron Tower. It was plug and play. I couldn't play the Blu-ray disc at first (which is why I bought it), but that was because I didn't have the right software installed on my computer (I had a weird Windows 10 error message). After I installed the software, it worked as expected. I did a Windows

Requires a double reboot. (Win 10)

For $22 this is a great replacement for my HP laptop with Windows 10 (Envy). To install: I turned off the power, removed the battery, installed the hard drive, reinserted the battery, reinserted it, then turned it on, but the device didn't show up. Then I put in a music CD, but nothing happened. I even used "Device Manager" to scan for new hardware, but that didn't find any new devices. or help me in any way. Finally I restarted the laptop for the second time and now the device shows up…

Complete junk of computer components

The metal case of the drive appears to be made of durable tinfoil. It arrived already dented but I tried installing it anyway to see if the dent would affect function. Inserting it into the computer caused more damage, and in fact the dent degraded the drive's ability to spin with the CD inside. I tried partially disassembling it to bend it back into shape. It was easy to bend, but not easy to keep in shape. At this point there is more damage being dealt by my attempt to use it, so I'll just…

Works great!: Computer Components

This hard drive installed perfectly. Just plug in and get started! I used this drive to replace a damaged HP Z840 SU-208GB DVD drive. What I didn't know was that there are two thin drives, so I accidentally ordered a 12.7mm thin drive, but quickly figured this out trying to install. . This type of drive is available for two or three times the price, but why bother when this economical drive works great and does the same job. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone. Just make sure you are the

Try a different brand. for computers and accessories

The first machine I ordered was clearly either used or returned as the security seal was broken and the hardware was not properly packed in the box so I sent it back for a replacement . The second looked new with a security seal and in the correct packaging, but I couldn't get the computer or software to recognize it no matter what I tried (and I'm very good with computers), so I could only assume that it was defective. I also found it interesting that the hardware was branded differently each…

Buyer beware good for internal CD and DVD drives

I check the DVD drive every 2-3 years so in the last 17 years I have at least 7 or 8 installed. This drive was not recognized by my computer after installation. I restarted twice and after the second start it worked. I got read errors every 3 or 4 CDs I put in and in most cases I had to load the disc 3-5 times before the drive recognized it. Recording from D/L DVD was not possible. I tried to burn a DVD 4 times and ended up with 5 racks. As far as I know, this record is a piece of junk. Pay…
