WORKS GREAT: Nintendo Systems

Works great with my US 3DS so this Japanese version isn't region locked just like the amiibo itself. Right now the only game it's useful for is my Smash Bros game. I hope there are more titles to come! I'm looking forward to Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.

Expensive price but good product.

My daughter loves the NFC reader, I was a bit upset when I found it for the regular price ($20) at my local Fred Meyer store, but I guess it's my fault I'm 30 Paid dollars because I bought it before Christmas. Spring. Shop for the best deal, I wouldn't spend more than $20 if I were you!

Pros
  • Hands-free calling
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Factories; Don't worry about the region

For people like me who don't want to invest in a new 3DS, this is perfect for games that support amiibos. I bought it for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam and had no problems. Like other Nintendo accessories, it was cheaper to buy because it was imported from Japan. Works regardless of the region of your 3DS.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A bit shabby

Works great with my Nintendo 2DS

Works great with my Kirby Amiibo in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. It works with 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS. My only complaint is that he's a little slow reading amiibo at times, but other than that he's really good. Batteries were a great addition and came in handy. If you have an amiibo but don't have a New Nintendo 3DS or Wii U, I highly recommend this.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Definitely Bad Product

As a side note, I bought this for my brother and part of that will be his review. He wanted NFC but didn't want to buy a new 3DS for it. For that it works great. The only downside I would say is that it uses IR so the 3DS has to point IR directly at it. I would recommend placing the 3DS/Reader on a table or something to read the amiibo.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

There were many compatibility issues. I had to google a lot before I pulled the trigger. If someone took the most common questions and added the answers to the description, it wouldn't be difficult. If you plan on keeping your old xDS hardware and using amiibo, this is what you need. Luckily, this feature is built into the "NEW" 3DS and the upcoming NEW 2DS.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great way to avoid 3DS upgrades

Works very well. My son has a Nintendo 3DS without the ability to read amiibo. The new 3DS and WiiU read information from amiibo. He didn't want to invest in a new 3DS, but making money to buy that reader was a more achievable goal. It took him a few months of hard work to earn enough to buy it, but now both of his devices read amiibo. He himself synced it to his 3DS (he's 11 years old) and it's been running flawlessly for over a month now.

Pros
  • Very profitable
Cons
  • Empty

Couldn't be happier!

All three of my children have a Nintendo 3DS XL, mainly because they lost or accumulated pocket money over several months. But my youngest doesn't have an NFC reader, and of course jealousy of his siblings has shown up more than once. I didn't even know these individual NFC readers existed until I received an email from one of these once-a-day sites. Given the price, I jumped at the opportunity. Although the instructions are entirely in Japanese, they are easy to follow: Point the radioโ€ฆ

The small durable block is simple and easy for kids to use!

I bought an NFC reader/writer mainly to use amiibo cards in Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer. . In any case, new gadgets often awaken that in me. The actual product is in the shape of a small hockey puck, quite small and light. Despite its size and weight, the device looks well made and is quite durable. By "rugged" I mean it could probably survive some minor knocks and awkward movements if your child accidentally drops it onto a table at close range, or even rolls it over the table onto the
