Good underwater camera for the price

This is the second Olympus Tough I have owned. The first died after 3 years bringing it to the beach and eventually the seals gave up and let the water (sea water) in. During the day, this camera takes decent pictures when there is enough light. I would say the picture quality is decent but not the best. Still, it compares well to other point-and-shoot cameras. 720p HD videos are great too. I have several complaints about this camera. Firstly, I've already taken it to the pool and beach, Iโ€ฆ

Nice but no instruction manual or software

We ordered this through Revain but they made it for the beach cam. Good price, good clear pictures. It has a built-in user guide to some extent, but when we tried to initialize it following that guide, it stalled and didn't work. When we tried to troubleshoot, he directed us to the user manual. Again, no printed user manual OR software was included, although the internal manual also mentioned bundled software. manual and software. Now the camera works perfectly. Maybe vendors other than Beachโ€ฆ

Swim with the fish!

Bought this camera in preparation for a Caribbean cruise. It was great to have a waterproof camera for rainforest trips, waterfalls, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming with turtles, etc. The picture is pretty good (see other more technical picture quality reviews). It doesn't even look like a budget DSLR, but it's probably good enough for their use. I was particularly interested in taking a camera snorkeling on coral reefs. It goes down 30 feet, which is enough for diving: the maximum distance Iโ€ฆ

It only lasted a month

My wife and I saw this camera at Best Buy and she loved it. We bought it without even thinking about checking out the Revain, which was a huge mistake since the Revain was $100 cheaper. We returned Best Buy and ordered from Revain. We got it for our trip to the beach resort. Well the first few times we used it in the pool it started acting really weird. The screen worked, showing the menu, but the camera itself didn't show anything on the screen and the lens was open. It was very strange, weโ€ฆ

Instructions are very lacking.

I like the camera BUT. You better be a telepath to understand how to control it. This is my fourth digital camera in the last 10 years. I'm not an idiot. The directive consisted of one page written in a dozen languages. Arabic and Chinese among others. It starts with "Connect your camera to your computer and download the software". Which software? Here is nothing! His firmware is in the camera and it's already there. (Checked at Olympus) And no computer is required. Icons and settings? MY GODโ€ฆ
