Best Deal on Home Theater Systems

I was looking for a DVD/Stereo system but didn't know what to buy. I also did a lot of research on the internet. In the end, I settled on three products: the Panasonic equivalent and SAVA-900. The latter was out of my price range and Panasonic didn't have the decoding capabilities that this Sony had. Here are my points: Decoding for 5.1, DTS, etc. For "downloaded" DVDs only. The remote is a slick remote, maybe backlit, but works well. Simple function. Stereo - excellent reception and a varietyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Digital Cinema Sound Modes for Movie Playback
Cons
  • Secret

Big sound, small box, big features, small solutions

This product is an amazing solution; I love home theater, but I don't like seeing a bunch of ugly flashing lights and unattractive speakers. Aesthetically, Sony borrowed from Bose et al. inspired and did a great job of packing full functionality into an attractive brushed metal box. From a video standpoint, performance is excellent and rivals many more expensive DVD solutions, partly because there is very little signal loss between the DVD section and DTS/Dolby 5.1 decoders. One of the best.

Just want you to know that the DAV-S300 is a great bargain. I've had it for 3-4 months now and I love it. The sound is amazing, although the total power can be 120 watts, that's more than enough, believe me. If you don't trust me, hear for yourself and go to your local electronics store. You get the features of Pro Logic, Dolby Surround Sound, and DTS modes. On top of that, you get all sorts of listening modes like Hall, Jazz Club, Live House, and more. Installing the speakers is very easy asโ€ฆ
