Not working after more than 2 hours of troubleshooting

This power strip is refurbished and cheap so I figured why not try it? Well, why not, is that it *obviously* doesn't work, so I've tried everything I can to get this thing to connect and extend my home wireless network. The instructions suggest a few different ways and I was still able to get into the extender to teach it to the LAN. But it just never connected after multiple reboots, long waits, and three factory resets. I'm sending it back and if I were you I wouldn't waste my time.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • No car

Not compatible with 5.0 frequency!

After spending a lot of time setting up the device, I found it very frustrating to discover that it wasn't 5.0 GHz compatible. This information should be clear when you are buying a refurbished unit just like when you are buying a new one, I even called Revain tech support and the lovely gentleman I spoke to didn't know, he tried unsuccessfully, TP -Link to contact and ended Give me their contact so I can call them Monday. After some research, repeater model TL-WA855RE is not compatible with…

It's a bug in networking products

Installation was easy but I haven't noticed a performance difference on any of my home devices. A week went by and I deducted a star. I haven't gotten any better and it seems to be getting worse. I don't know what to think but I definitely don't recommend it. I want to be fair, so there's always a chance I'm doing something wrong, and if so, be careful. My computer skills are well above the average of a 69-year-old. Unless I can easily get it set up correctly, you better not try it unless you…

Fast setup and strong signal

Many reviews say it's difficult to set up. No, that is not so. Setup took 30 seconds: 15 seconds to read the instructions and 15 seconds to get to the router and connect it. I bought a TP-Link N300 WiFi Range Extender (refurbished) for $13, mainly because it has an Ethernet jack (on the bottom) that allows me to connect my old laptop with a broken WiFi card directly to it. This allows me to connect a WiFi extender anywhere in the house and on the porch and use a laptop's wired ethernet…

Easy Peasy & WORKS AS PROMISED!

I bought a refurbished model and I still couldn't be happier. I'm a senior and not very tech savvy and all I did was follow the instructions using the WPS button on my router and it worked exactly as promised. There are alternative instructions if you don't have a WPS button. Then I took it outside and down to the carpentry shop where I have a one to two (out of three) bar signal. I plugged it in and got a signal. Then I went outside and walked a bit down the hill where our friends will park…

Everything done in no time!

I have five BLINK cameras that use two hubs and only had one router covering the entire house and garage. Most of the cameras only had one lane and were not connected to the internet at all. I decided to buy three of these extensions (PRIME Day, $12 each) and place them on either side of the house/garage and one in the middle to distribute the signal evenly. The color convinced me! The full 5 lanes on all devices, but better yet, they act like a wireless mesh, giving my tablets and TVs the full

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
