As expected: initial quality, decent start

Just tested on my 14 year old first turntable for Christmas. The sound quality is what you would expect from a portable player. Reminds me of an old Walkman radio. The music plays flawlessly (we're all used to cutting-edge technology and it just isn't the same. Again, as expected). Shipping was fast, no damage and the product was very well packaged, needles protected, plastic packaging. The quality of the turntable is a little questionable (cheap plastic), but with proper care, the device is…

Took a month! in Turntable

I got some vinyl records and wanted a turntable with built in speakers and it was perfect! It worked fine when I played it 3 times and when I used it again nothing happened! I installed it at home so I didn't move it, just plugged it back in. It didn't seem to get any power and when I tried a different adapter it took about 30 seconds. I really liked it while it worked so I'm risking a replacement and if that fails it's a full refund. Update May 6th 2020 They did not replace the item they…

Very nice Just a few issues lowering the star rating

Received this turntable today. Very nice, but just a couple of questions. 1. I had to remove the cover because the ALBUM with LPs rubbed on the cover when playing. Mostly 180 gram albums. The lid now removed sounds great. 2. Sound may not be to everyone's taste. Luckily I have bought speakers again which I would advise people to buy. Nevertheless, you save money. If you are in a small room or apartment, it works wonders. It's so nice to be able to use records again after 20+ years. Lots of…

Bought 2 - both don't work!

The first one came and didn't work at all. So we went back and ordered more. The next one worked about 3 days, then the hand stopped working normally. Now the hand no longer moves electronically. You have to manually move it and put it on the platter, which is dangerous because that way you can accidentally scratch the platter. So we're returning the second one because we're afraid that if we save it we'll scratch our records and, even worse, something else will go wrong with the player after…

Seriously great!

Our kids in their 20's and 30's bought this for my husband for Father's Day. My daughter asked for my opinion and I was like "Ooooh the speakers will probably get tinny, poor quality, just a fancy gift, probably not worth it!" My husband will think it's a waste of money. He is very practical. Our adult children bought it anyway! Everything I thought was completely wrong! It's amazing, like the portable size we had in the '60s and '70s. We love it! It brings back the times when you sat at the…

Looks great. Not a very good sound (on its own).

Great device with a nostalgic look. It arrived and I realized I didn't have vinyl to play with so it sat for a couple of weeks and looked amazing! My records have arrived and it sounds like it's being played out of a tin can, a great looking hi-fi tin can. There are right and left RCA jacks on the back, so I'll consider a different exit solution. Update 4/13/21: Back with an update and a fourth and fifth star. For audiophiles it got a 4th star for a bit of work and money. It has little rubber…

You need external speakers

Let's start with the number one problem with this player: the speakers are bad. You suck badly. They sound awful and I was so disappointed when I first heard them because I thought vinyl was supposed to sound good. However, as they say, if you connect it to a good sound system, the player is excellent. For the price I don't think you should expect more. I'll tell you why I decided to keep him because he's so damn cute. I mean I really wanted a retro turntable and that's it. When I connected it…
