1 and some bad BIOS implementations for laptops

There are some strange issues with the Renesas USB 3.0 drivers that ship with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, as well as some poor BIOS implementations for laptops. Basically the dock doesn't show up at boot and the monitors connected to it are dead. The fix was simple, however the Renesas drivers (designed for Windows 7) work great as stated in the FAQ section of the DisplayLink website. and laptop panel at 1600x900) if you're using a laptop with HDMI and connecting the dock via HDMI or DVI - simply using the dock ports and ignoring the laptop ports seemed to fix this as well. Pay attention to your graphics card manufacturer's drivers and how they calculate the bandwidth required for the GPU to render the display!
