There are some strange issues with the Renesas USB 3.0 drivers that ship with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, as well as some poor BIOS implementations for laptops. It's really my own fault for not researching this further, but for the most part this docking station isn't good. You still have to connect almost the same number of cables when using the dock as you would without, which pretty much defeats the purpose.
