Review on πŸ’» Dell D3000 USB 3.0 Docking Station with SuperSpeed (YWDN0) by David Boulanger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Still works great a year and a half later

I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 5378 i7-7500U. I use this laptop daily, 10 hours a day. Since I've had the laptop, I've unplugged it at least once a day. Initially, I was bothered by the frequent plugging and unplugging of the USB-A port on my laptop, as well as the DC adapter. Of course it would be better to link like the old docking stations, but over time you get used to just two plugins. Having a dual monitor is very important, and I was particularly concerned about wear and tear on the HDMI cable. I always have the following connected: - External hard drive (super speed connection) - 3Dconnexion Space Mouse - USB wireless mouse and USB wireless keyboard (I have them separately to get a 5 button mouse) - Ethernet cable (although sometimes I unplug it to use wireless network) - HDMI cable - external USB hub - external super mini DVD player - docking station power cable These are 7 connectors down to 2 (power and USB). Everything always works without thinking about it. Today I just connected it to my new KVM (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MEHPWG3/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and everything still works! To date I have no complaints. ; It works well in the permanent installation of my home office. I've even zipped it to a punctured computer stand (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036RA5EA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it stows away neatly. you're on the fence, get it, you won't regret it; Your productivity will improve by not worrying about all the connections.

Pros
  • Everything great!
