Review on Sceptre E325W-2560AD DisplayPort 2560x1440 with Speakers, Adaptive Sync and 85Hz Refresh Rate HD Monitor by Marvin Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Rating updated. . .

My old HP 2711x monitor died the other day so here I am. I use it as a second monitor on my late 2015 27" iMac and was amazed at how quickly I was able to set it up. Nice crisp picture and for my purposes I prefer the 2K resolution. than 4K. I was able to use most of the presets leaving them as is but have upped the contrast slightly for slightly more saturated colors I will probably buy another 32" Scepter in a few months when I upgrade to the new Mac Mini M1. NOW THE BAD NEWS: The monitor worked fine for several months before randomly flickering, making it almost impossible to use for my editorial and design work HERE'S THE DEAL: The flickering I was experiencing appeared to be from an updated version of Big Sur Mac OS Since the last update I haven't seen this screen flickering (yet) I am currently considering this scepter monitor for my second screen.

Pros
  • Up to 85Hz refresh rate with 85Hz refresh rate, images change faster and smoother than standard, reducing screen tearing
Cons
  • Screen burn-in: This occurs when a static image is displayed on the monitor for too long and continually burns into the screen.
