Review on Epson Perfection V19 Color Photo & Document Scanner With Scan-To-Cloud & 4800 Dpi Optical Resolution , Black by Rich Montgomery

Revainrating 3 out of 5

3 Stars with isssues, deceptive advertising and description. Works but there are concerns.

The Epson name is well recognized in this house been buying their products for along time. This however falls short of quality and Epson should be ashamed of such false descriptions and adverting. There was some real stupid things done in this scanner build that Epson should know better.Pros:Small footprintEasy install on Windows 7 Other reviews show varied issues.Sturdy enough and light weight easy to have on any desk.Scans old photos well and fast seems the auto feature does a good job.No power supply needed.Several users experience option, auto, home, office and pro.Cons:Software is old school like 1990's maybe its adds stability but bad interface.I am old school tech so I could care less but pretty clunky software.NO POWER on off you must unplug the usb stupid idea as over time you will wear out the cable why would they not put a simple on off.Misleading description its not just powered by USB, it requires the PC's USB. I thought it might scan to an SD card but is iffy on description.Scans in ten seconds, yes if grey scale and low res, very very very misleading high res scan takes 7-9 minutes and is why loss of stars major for that.Kick stand ins cheap plastic and why it helps save space it will break in time poor design.Over all the the scanner scans and does well enough, I paid 65.00 fair enough for a scanner that scans.Epson should get their hand slapped for puffing the description and facts. It is not a 10 second scanner its more like a 1-2 minute for a photo longer for full page and high res is way longer, shame on you Epson. The kick stand they advertise saves space is cheap and wont last. The hinges for the scanner are also cheap cheap plastic.I bought this to do a bunch of photos and the ten second scan was why I bought this, it will take longer to do the scans now,Picture scan quality for me is good. Software works well enough for very old school software. No on/off switch is just lazy design no reason to not have a off switch. The scanner is not for the professional, its for the here and there sometimes scanner.I would have returned it but it does work on win 7 just fine. Its annoying but works.
