Review on ๐Ÿšจ High Decibel DC 12V Siren Security Horn Speaker with Piezo Technology, Ideal for Burglar Sticker or Screw Installation - Buzzer Alarm by Kyle Salinas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Almost 120 dB when you press the slots on top of the dB meter.

Most Mfg. Test db at a distance of 4 to 12 inches from the device. It depends on how much they want to soften their numbers. The closer it is, the higher the dB number, because dB numbers measure pressure waves and the closer you are to the source, the stronger the wave. You can't push this any further. I've heard network switches in server rooms are noisier. I got a peak reading of around 117 on my dB meter with the sensor at the top edge. The voltage was @ 12.7V DC and lots of current behind it. When I placed it 6 inches apart it fell to around the 90's. If the Chinese hoard all the rare earth minerals, they could at least refine them properly and make a quality product. Of course, they would have to pay their people a living wage for this. I regret the purchase, I had to buy an American, or at least a German or a European.

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other selections
