Review on ๐Ÿ” Longacreยฎ 52-52002: Accurate and Reliable Liquid Filled 2-1/2 Tire Gauge for Precise 0-60 psi Measurement by Kyam Deriphonse

My favorite air pressure gauge (reliable and accurate)!

This is a very well made and accurate pressure gauge! Never use a pencil gauge again! I really like this Longacre pressure gauge. just easier to read and keep. The 17 inch air hose is long and very flexible. Everything about the assembly and manufacture of this air pressure gauge is of high quality. I have one of the simpler models that is not filled with oil. , but I need a parent model so I can always check my readings. Just in case I might lose a thing or two, it's enough to make me wonder if I messed up the calibrated readings. So now I can always check my tires with both hands beforehand. This is a really well made gauge with a really good protective cap, nice and thick to absorb most hard hits. The fact is that this model "holds" the pressure value after you loosen or remove the air cartridge from the tire valve. So quickly press the chuck to get a pressure reading, then release and the gauge will still show a pressure reading. So now if you need to take a closer look, this model lets you do it, and when you're happy, just reset the gauge. All you have to do is press the release valve, which is a small silver button located on a black metal body that connects the air hose to the pressure gauge. This button is also known as the release valve. It can also be used to deflate a tire if you have inflated the tire a pound or two and taken a reading by pressing the deflation valve while still holding the gauge's air cartridge against the tire valve, simply press this button to Deflate the tire and then release the button when the pressure reaches the desired level. Another very desirable feature is the Dead On Accurate indicator. I used it to test another Longacre gauge that is just as accurate as this one, but I took it to my cousin's auto shop where he calibrated the gauges and this 52002 gauge matched every pressure. I tested it at 20lbs, 45lbs and 55lbs. Every reading was accurate. This air gauge is very easy to hold, very easy to read and very easy to use. Also, the gauge itself is larger than other, cheaper Longacre models, which is a big plus for me. the second is a Longacre air gauge and I really like both but I prefer this one. One thing to note about this particular model is that you must "equalize" the pressure in the pressure gauge yourself before using it. By that I mean every time you take it out to use, not each tire individually, but after it's been sitting (not in use) for a while and you're checking your tire pressure, the first thing you have to do is hold the gauge upright and loosen it (the top cap a quarter turn counterclockwise). turn clockwise) and then retighten the cap screw (handle only) until snug. Then use the air pressure gauge as usual. I would highly recommend this air pressure gauge to anyone considering it! I'm really happy with it!

Pros
  • Longacre liquid filled pressure gauges have a special bleed valve on top of the gauge to fully balance internal and external pressure and ensure accuracy.
Cons
  • Functionality
