Review on Winter Wool Hat With Earflap - Stormy Kromer'S Original Kromer Cap For Ultimate Comfort And Style by Joel Mosqueda

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very warm and kinda goofy looking

Full disclosure — I just received the hat in red and black and haven’t worn it in the cold yet.CRAFTSMANSHIP - The hat appears to be well made. The product image does a good job of capturing the real thing. The dye job also looks good.WARMTH — I wore the hat around my house for a bit and it definitely heated up my head. This will be a warm hat. The one thing I’m unsure about though, is the ear flaps. They’re a weird design and barely cover my ears so they may not make for warm ears but it’s too early to say.STYLING — Kind of goofy but it might look a little more so for a women wearing a red and black plaid. I can do goofy though, so I don’t mind. If you’re a man or an outdoorsy woman, you probably won’t mind the style but know when the earflaps are down, it ratchets up the goofiness factor. If you’re a woman concerned with style, keep looking.SIDE NOTE FOR LONG-HAIRED WOMEN — Check out the Millie Kromer hat. It has a ponytail hole which the Stormy Kramer doesn’t have.UPDATE 11/1/19 - I wore the hat for the first time today on a morning in the low 40s with moderate wind, and also wore the ear flaps down. The hat has no wind resistance and my head was cold wearing it. The ear flaps barely cover the ears I felt the wind there too. This is probably a good hat on a more windless day but not a hat when the wind is blowing.
