The best shoes I've ever had

This is the first comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I then buy in pairs. Ha ha. I'm a flip flop lover and have a job that requires closed toe shoes. I like the 0 drop healing, the sock, its lightness, the grip. I sometimes carry a 48-pound outer frame with me for dirt road jobs. They are very good on loose dirt, rocks, not wet cement. :)I love her. I will never buy traditional shoes again.

Pros
  • Great fit.
Cons
  • May cause blisters or skin irritation

my husband loves it

I bought these for my husband as I have had the women's version for years and love it. Great build, good look, lightweight. This is now his second pair.

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship, beautiful appearance, light weight
Cons
  • Limited color options

Slippery when wet: my rating

These are my favorite shoes except when stepping on smooth surfaces like wet rocks. They are slippery on smooth surfaces. You also need to replace the insoles with something more comfortable for your feet. Otherwise they are great. Honestly, I'm looking for new trail runners that aren't that slippery.

Pros
  • wide enough but too small in my opinion.
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable on long runs

Discussed giving him a five

I fell in love with Altras in general. My last 4 pairs of shoes were alternative because of the nice toe cap and just a really good shoe. The zero-drop aspect wasn't as drastic for me as some reviews make it out to be, but of course don't overdo it when going zero-drop. As for this particular shoe, I bought it to do a Spartan Ultra and they did great at one race. I've also taken them on a long hike and they just worked. Well draining, allows good movement and holds up well. In general, I really

Pros
  • Just like the Altra, with a great finger box and a pleasure to drive on both tarmac and off-road. I have dark blue and black
Cons
  • Limited availability in stores

Comfortable shoes with a small warning.

Love the durability and the comfort of walking the pavement for 8+ hours a day. The only dislike that is huge. Bent over in these boots, my toenails get caught on the inside of the boot through my socks. I've learned to adapt because the other way is so convenient.

Pros
  • So far, so good!
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean

This is my second pair of alts.

This is my second pair from this brand, this pair is not as reliable as my previous more expensive pair but so far they look good. I wasn't aware of the unusual tongue but it works great so it takes a little longer to remove.

Pros
  • This is my 5th pair of the exact same show. I like the fit, but the profile wears out too quickly.
Cons
  • The plastic ridge at the top of the toe edge is torn in small miles and cannot be broken in. Now it cuts my fingers.

Great shoe for neutral runners.

This is the third pair of Altra Superior shoes that I have purchased. I love zero drop running shoes and they suit me both on and off the trail. I'm just a veteran runner and I love having a shoe that works great whether I'm on the road or the trail. If you are a neutral runner and like zero drop these are great shoes. It's light enough with plenty of toe room.

Pros
  • Can be used for daily use or training
Cons
  • Limited breathability

Didn't last long. in my rating

I have a wide foot, I run 10-12 miles a day in my specific job, I've bought countless running shoes for work and they don't last long, these shoes didn't last long either, although 4 stars because my left foot has a large hole in the heel area and the material on the outside of the big toe, the rubber started to separate from the material creating another hole.

Pros
  • Great fit
Cons
  • Design must not be aesthetic

Fantastic straight out of the box.

I received the shoes and immediately went on my way. **Remember I've been wearing Altra shoes for a while now so my feet and body didn't need the warm up they provide. ** I ran 4.2 miles and couldn't help but get a smile off my face. No hotspots, no slipping, just miles of relaxed cruising and great shoes.

Pros
  • Helps keep you motivated and inspired during your workout
Cons
  • May not provide adequate support for those with high arches.

My favorite trail running shoe

Perfect for easy trails. Suitable for wide feet, durable sole. It repels dirt well, drains quickly and dries quickly even when running. My favorite trail running shoe.

Pros
  • Great shoes for trail running
Cons
  • May not be suitable for wet or humid conditions

A year later, holes appear near the fingers.

To be honest, excellent shoes are very comfortable and ideal for wide feet. The only problem is that the fabric is quite thin over the shoes, especially near the toes. A year later holes in the toe box started showing up so I was still a little disappointed that he couldn't stand it.

Pros
  • Built for optimal grip and support
Cons
  • Not recommended for sensitive feet

Altra is starting to disappoint because it's cheaply made

Altra is starting to make shoes cheaper and it shows. I've been buying Altras for years and they go downhill fast. Looks like it's time to look for a new brand.

Pros
  • Great replacement for discontinued new sneakers with minimal balance
Cons
  • The protection can wear out easily

The shoes work well off-road.

The shoes appear to be well made. The stone removal insert was a nice feature. I ran some very technical trails in these shoes and they worked well.

Pros
  • Great shoes will buy again
Cons
  • May be too tight for some people

Great shoes. in my rating

I love this shoe and hope it doesn't ruin the design of future models. (New doesn't always mean better!) Well built. The great thing about these zero fall running shoes is that I've had absolutely NO KNEE PROBLEMS since I've been using them for a year. My only complaint, as with all running shoes I've worn, is that the grip isn't great on wet urban surfaces (concrete sidewalks, cobblestones, etc.). I live in Singapore, a tropical climate where it rains at least four times a week on average and…

Pros
  • Has excellent quality and assembly
Cons
  • May cause heel slip

Great shoes! 2 pairs!

This is my second pair of Altra walking and hiking shoes. I wear the first pair! Enjoy the shoe's wide toe box, moderate cushioning and stability. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Made from durable materials to last a lifetime
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable on uneven ground

Not quite Alta suits me

I've had this pair of shoes for just over 6 months now; I used them as a work goer. I walk 4-5 miles a day; x 3-4 times a week. I just had to replace them. The body of the shoe is in perfect condition, but the insole/lining quickly became uncomfortable. I'm a bit disappointed because my previous Alta shoes, their Escalante, lasted 2.5 years and are still very comfortable. will buy these shoes again.

Pros
  • Keeps your feet cool and dry even during intense activity
Cons
  • Not suitable for people who require individual orthopedic insoles.

Changed from what she did well

There were several versions of the past bosses and I liked them, use them for trekking and hiking. Altra must have decided to make them super light and made the toe box narrower too. I think some people will like it, but probably not that many people.

Pros
  • Comes in a simple and elegant design with an attractive black color.
Cons
  • May cause discomfort on rocky terrain.

Great fit, very comfortable

I had several pairs of ultra hiking shoes (Lone Peak) and wanted something similar, suitable for everyday walking and less expensive. That's them! Wide toe and very close to the same fit.

Pros
  • Can provide excellent protection from muddy and wet conditions
Cons
  • May be too bulky for some people

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This shoe fits perfectly and is very comfortable

I've run 5k to 10 miles in these shoes and they are fantastic. Rock guard inserts are great for rough terrain, and if you're running on tarmac, take them off for a lighter shoe.

Pros
  • The shoes are very comfortable
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with flat or wide feet

foot clouds. Very easy.

One of my favorite running shoes. From easy trails to longer hikes, I've worn them with 50-pound gear and had little to no leg fatigue. Very spacious sock, which was good for my wide feet. Incredibly light weight without sacrificing outsole durability. They're pretty stupid when they're looking for everyday fitness, but that's not really the point.

Pros
  • Breathable design and materials ensure good ventilation of the feet.
Cons
  • May be too narrow for people with wide feet
