Trezor One

The SatoshiLabs Trezor One paved the way for an ever-growing hardware wallet industry. Launched in 2014, the original cryptocurrency "safe" solution continues to be widely used today - despite the emergence of more modern alternatives.
For those users who want a compromise between security and usability, Trezor One's small form factor, along with its compatibility with a number of desktop, browser and mobile wallets, make it a highly secure cryptocurrency wallet for everyday use. reliable.
The web interface allows users to manage, send and receive thousands of coins and tokens, or sign and verify messages. It does not yet support native multisig or SegWit for Bitcoin transactions, but the Trezor One can be used with Electrum to circumvent those limitations.
When connecting the wallet to another device, users must enter their PIN to unlock it. The numbers are assigned to a grid on the Trezor, but are masked on the screen of the other device. The device must be used in conjunction with the wallet for the user to enter their PIN. This ensures that the computer, even if it is compromised, cannot collect any information from the wallet.
However, because Trezor One relies more on a secondary device for operations, it generates an initial 24-word seed for added security. Still, seeds of different lengths can be retrieved on the device.
Another nice addition is the usability of Trezor One as a password manager.

Pros
  • One of the things that attracts the most about the TREZOR One wallet is the possibility of storing private keys in a different place than the workplace and, therefore, minimizing the time of exposure to hackers.
  • The screen offers additional protection and verification.
  • Affordable hardware wallet with display.
  • At just over six years old, Trezor One has consolidated its place in the history of cryptocurrencies from an early stage. It may have some lacks of the features of the second generation of hardware wallets, but it does what it does well. SatoshiLabs has an excellent track record in the crypto space, and the price makes it one of the cheapest devices on the market. With abundant documentation available, Trezor One is the perfect hardware wallet for cryptocurrency veterans and beginners alike.
Cons
  • Previous version of the TREZOR hardware wallet.
  • Requires additional wallets for specific coins.
  • Not compatible with XRP.
