I bought this scanner because I thought it could do a simple scan of shared network folders over a wired or wireless network. IT CANNOT. You must use their software and it must be running at all times for the scanner to work. Our old-school Canon scanner was able to do the job. Do not buy!

Pros
  • Scanners and Accessories
Cons
  • High Price

Worst scanner I've ever used

Instead of a simple "scan to network" feature on the device, you need to use their Button Manager and Paperstream Capture software on a networked computer. Which I could live with if they worked, but after a reboot the software doesn't automatically reconnect until you edit the scan profile and browse for a scanner. A HUGE pain in the back, do yourself a favor and spend your money on a device that has "Scan to Network" built into the device itself rather than using crappy software.

Pros
  • Document scanner
Cons
  • Reliability

NO standalone network scanner.

This may be a good scanner but it is very confusing to set up and features are VERY limited. It can be set up to scan over a network (or USB) to a PC, much like other ScanSnap products, and use the software on the PC to save the PDF to a file or whatever you do with it want. If you want to use it with dedicated touchscreen buttons as shown in the image and/or without being tied to a workstation, they offer PaperPort NX Manager, which is a bloated utility that can be installed on a server (along

NO standalone scanner - even with NX Manager

Set up this scanner for a customer who needs easy scanning to a network (SMB share). I'm an IT professional with over 25 years of experience and I wanted to throw this thing out the window. There is NOTHING built in. It's a dumb scanner and you either have to download the software to your desktop and tell it what to do with the scan or you have to watch a 15 minute (accelerated video) that explains how to set up IIS and how 5 different programs do this run. SERVER (not workstation). Even afterโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Reduce operational costs with NX Manager web controls and PC-free deployment
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Fast good scanner, best in office electronics

I have been buying Fujitsu scanners for my office for many years and the Fi line has always performed as well as one could hope . If you get these and use them with Paperstream IP (Fujitsu VRS software), you rarely need to rescan. I like to scan at 400 dpi as I find that it produces good crisp documents, while 300 dpi only produces documents that are easy to read on screen but lack that clarity (I have hard drive space so extra space doesn't matter) . While 400 dpi doesn't allow for blazingโ€ฆ

  • Color touch screen for ease of use and reduced training time
Cons
  • Stock availability
