Worked for Dental Health

My kitties were eating another premium dry food and were very healthy EXCEPT that one of them had bad breath. The vet recommended Royal Canin, saying that it promotes dental health not just by virtue of being a dry food, but due to one of its "active" ingredients, which she referred to as an enzyme. I bought a small bag and transitioned the kitties to it. Within a week they were eating this full-time, and I'm happy to say that the bad breath is gone. I assume bad breath is not just a cosmetic…

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • Contains relatively low levels of essential vitamins and minerals for kittens

From the cat's meoth!

My family was good enough to let me voice my opinion so that I can tell you that it was all it promised and I am gobbling it up right to the last morsel which I was never known to do before and with Royal Canin I have never turned up my nose at it, ever, even when I am miffed. I am quite often miffed over my food because I tend to have expensive, discriminating taste. I think I have impressed the family enough to get me the tinned food with the next order of the dry, (one can only hope)…

Pros
  • Helps keep kittens fuller for longer periods of time
Cons
  • May cause diarrhea due to the high fiber content

Expensive but worth it

Expensive but worth it for kittens transitioning from milk to solids. The pieces are smaller than competing brands so you don't have to grind them up to fit tiny kitty mouths. And I've yet to have a kitten dislike the taste. It's what we recommend to all our foster 'moms' in our Loving Care Cat Rescue operation and last year we saved over 600 kitties, most of them orphaned or saved from Feral colonies! We usually exist on donations and that can be anything from cheap to expensive, but for 3-6…

My Cat Loves it in my review

I always get the bigger bag, it’s literally lasts me like 4 months. So convenient for busy cat parents. I like to follow the portions on the back of the bag, makes it easy for me as a first time cat owner

Pros
  • Supports a healthy weight gain for growing kittens
Cons
  • Formula contains soy, which can be harmful to some kittens

My daughter found a kitten in the gutter looking for his mom after she had died. The kitten was only two weeks (or so) and we had to bottle feed him. I started feeding him this about a month later. I feed my cats Royal Canin food and I know it is excellent. This is no different he is the healthiest kitten I have ever seen. His coat is perfect, shiny and soft. he has unusual bursts of energy I find amazing and he is very quick to attack anything that moves in the slightest bit. Anyway yes, it is

Not for cats with allergies

Our cat had an allergic reaction to this food and began absolutely tearing his skin to pieces :( It is sad, because he absolutely loves the food. This is not a good food for cats with allergies or sensitivities.

I did NOT taste it, but my cat did.

I can't speak for the taste of the food, but my cat devoured it. Never hesitated when it was dinner time. That is what I call a winner.

Pros
  • She eats her food no problem and she is a healthy weight
Cons
  • On the higher-end of the price spectrum for kitten food

Good for Scottish shorthair kitten

He loves it and thickness is good for him as a 8 month old Scottish shorthair kitten. He started eating this food from 3 months old to 11 months old now, still loves it. No overweight!

Pros
  • EASY-TO-CHEW KIBBLE: Unique kibble texture is easy to chew: perfect for a young cat’s mouth and emerging teeth
Cons
  • Contains artificial flavors and preservatives

Top brand for kitten food.

Kittens loved it. It’s a bit pricey but only decent kitten food on market. Googled it and this brand came up as best. Kept them on six mo then changed to Iams due to cost.

Pros
  • I’ve tried multiple brands and Royal Canin is all my picky kittens will eat.
Cons
  • Some veterinarians may not recommend this product due to the high price and low protein content of the food

Good food for a growing fur baby

OMG, this kibble is delicious! At least that's what Ernie tells me. We started feeding him the Mother & Kitten formula when we adopted him at 2.5 months old, then switched to this Kitten (Chaton!) formula. Now he's 4 months old and still can't get enough of it. He's been putting on weight like a little kitty champ. Big Kitty tries to steal some now and again even though she has her own Royal Canin formula. The brand has been recommended by a couple vets so we'll stick with it as long as the fur

Pros
  • Sourced from trusted suppliers who follow ethical standards
Cons
  • Not a natural or holistic option for kitten nutrition

Cat likes the taste of it, not so much me.

I've been feeding my feral kitten this since I got him and he seems to like the Royal Canin the best. Never really and issue to get him to eat. I'm not overly impressed with the cost of it, but the cat is a little spoiled so he gets what he likes.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Some kittens may have a hard time digesting the fat content

I have 2 British Shorthair kittens. On the breeders' recommendation, I have been feeding them Royal Canin Kitten Dry since I got them and plan to do so until they are about a year old. First, the kittens love this food (they like the Royal Canin Kitten Instinctive Wet Food even better). Second, I had cats in the past when I was a student and fed them less expensive dry cat food. I noticed that on Royal Canin, these kittens poop a LOT less and the poop is much less smelly. So, I am sticking with

Pros
  • Cat-dry-food
Cons
  • The smell of the food may be unappetizing to some kittens

My kitty loved it on my review.

It has always been a trusted brand. My cats grew up with it. He is now 9 yrs old and now my new kitty is enjoying it too. May cause stunted growth due to the lack of optimal nutritional content.

Pros
  • Produced in a facility with strict quality control measures
Cons
  • May cause stunted growth due to the lack of optimal nutritional content
