Digital Frontiers Institute Course: Making Professionals become better equipped to face the challenges of digital technology
Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) is set up to train and prepare financial technology leaders and build the human capacity in digital services by training a new generation of professionals and providing them with the information they need to provide digital solutions.
DFI was founded by David Porteous (Chairman), Gavin Krugel (CEO), and Ignacio Mas (Executive Director)

There are over 20 online courses. Classes are held digitally. There is a course that is free and sponsored by DFI. I will discuss 10 out of the courses.
All courses are certified by DFI.
1. Certified Digital Finance Practitioner- This course is also certified by The Fletcher School at Tufts University, Massachusetts USA. It is a program that will run for 3 years with different courses that will give you a solid foundation in Digital Financial Services. The course costs USD4000
2. Certificate in Digital Money- This course is also certified by The Fletcher School at Tufts University. It is available in both English and French languages. It is a 12-weeks course on digital money, including everything on digital payments and digital financial services.
Cost: USD1500.00
3. Mobile Money Operations- This course which is available in English and French runs for 5 weeks. The courses’ target is to train you to build your mobile money business.
COST: USD250
4. Consumer Protection- It gives you an introduction into how you can be protected as a consumer of digital financial services. It also touches how to implement your protection and possible challenges.

5. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency- This course spans 5 weeks. It is an introduction to the world of distributed ledgers and internet-based value exchange systems of cryptocurrency.

6. Digital Identity- It introduces you to digital Identity. It also covers schemes such as BankID and Mobile Connect among others.
Duration: 4 weeks
COST: USD250
7. AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Finance- This 9-week program gives an introduction of how to adopt Artificial Intelligence in a business.
Duration: 9 weeks

8. Understanding Technology in Business- In this course, you will learn and understand the role of technology in business.
Duration: Self enrolment (You learn at your own pace) within 6 weeks
COST: Free (Sponsored by DFI)
Note: Due to the courses’ free nature, I enrolled for the course but I discovered that I could not change the phone number to another country. South Africa is the default country. So I think this course is meant only for South Africans
9. Understanding and Managing Risk- It is a 6-week course. It takes a look at the risks involved in businesses and business transactions.
Cost: USD250
10. Money Transfers- It takes a comprehensive look on how money tranfers have evolved and developed in this modern day world.
Duration: 4 weeks
COST: USD250
My Opinion:
Some of the courses are highly rated and certified by Tufts University, Massachusetts USA.
Completing the courses will enhance your reputation. But these courses are set up to train mainly professionals
that is why it is too expensive to enroll. Also, I discovered that the free course seems only available for South Africans
, I tried to register for the free course but there is no option to change phone numbers from South Africa.
There is only one course on Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies
which is not enough for this company to be regarded as a Cryptocurrency company
