Its creator, Vitalik Buterin uses this technology in order to decentralize computer programs and applications, to be accessible to everyone. Ethereum is a digital platform that adopts the blockchain technology established by bitcoin and expands its use to a wide variety of applications. Ether (ETH) is a token that can be used in transactions that use this software. Unlike bitcoin, ethers have not been created to become a decentralized global digital currency, but to pay for the actions that take place in the applications of the Ethereum network.
