It is the proof of stake platform so no mining blocks. No master nodes as well. The main benefit is they can create a new block in the blockchain and get block reward. also, Anyone with any amount of coins will be able to run a node.

Pros
- QTUM is the best project in the crypto market. QTUM gives many benefits to their users. QTUM has now new POS version 3.an improvement over version 2.which gives significantly advanced technologies to users.it is More Secure and excellent scalability.
Cons
- there are some issues with the UTXO model, and also it warns that Smart Contracts build on this model has some severe limitations also, the ethereum platform refused to use the UTXO model.
