- Through the user's ranking system, Revain is providing a platform where spam is filtered and trustful reviews can shine. There is also supposed to be rewards for good reviewers but that has yet to be refined. The rating algorithm seems to be constantly improved as evident from a recent blog post and the project gives the feeling it has a focused team and it keeps moving forward.
- The AI review is a good idea and a step to the right direction, but right now it needs tweaking as it's accuracy is very bad, the "REVIEW QUALITY" will never go above "average". To test it, I wrote a detailed review like I always do, tried to check it through the AI system and it gave me an "average" quality. I then tried to copy/paste text of a random subject from Wikipedia and other less-known sources but no matter what I'd do, the quality wouldn't increase. Plain copy/paste would even decrease the quality to "poor" which makes me think the system is protecting against plagiarism, that's great, but it's obviously set in such a way that it'll reward very few people (if any) which is either a shady way to go or a bug, I hope it's the 2nd. Personally I only have 3 reviews (before this one) and with 32 Karma I'm on the top10%. If my reviews are not of good or excellent quality, I guess only the top 1%-5% is rewarded. In the long term, this will discourage people from using the platform. This is my only reason I didn't vote with 4 stars. PS: After a lot of tries I managed to reach the "good quality" mark, however it's even more obvious now that the system needs refinement, adding a word or two can change the rating from average to good without providing any feedback as to why.
