File Sharing and storage, Upfiring still needs to up their game
The project, Upfiring, is a Decentralised file sharing project which has been in place for a long time now. The project allows users to seed files and upload them for other to securely access by providing a seed phrase which unlocks the file for the third party. The project has also made it possible for other people to earn it's token for seeding these files for others making it an incentive program for users with time and resources to do that. The project has its application built in for PCs and shows no intended support for small end devices like our smartphones.
It's an interesting project but has began to receive a lot of competitions from notable file sharing and storing projects like Bittorent and Filecoin. More developments is required of from their services so as to keep up with others. The security of ones file on the platform though is highput due to it being hosted on the renowned Ethereum Blockchain. It's a good medium of sharing files anonymously....
Pros
- Decentralised file sharing, storage and anonymous transfers are what characterizes the project
- Storage of files are done on the Blockchain ledgers and are so very safe
- Incentives are paid to users for seeding files
Cons
- There is a lot of competition for the Upfiring project
- Upfiring seems not to be ready to increase support for other small end devices
