This little chick is so cute I'll give this to her. The package was clearly open as there was tape on all sides. That didn't work either (although the lock/activation bar was still there). I had to open the back of the chicken and change the batteries. and it finally worked. Keep this in mind because you most likely won't get the initial "surprise factor" that your child is probably looking forward to the most. I only gave it 2 stars because the toy itself is cute and my almost 3 year old loves it.
