Review on πŸ” Enhanced SEO: Kaytee My First Home Tank Topper by Amy Claeys

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but needs revision

Received the topper today and installed it immediately. Reading other people's reviews I knew what to expect. There is a similar topper in black but I prefer white and I ordered this one knowing I wasn't going to use some of the accessories. topper and snap it together. It was pretty easy and simple. Then you put it on the tank. This is where the problem begins. As you can see from the attached pictures, the bottom wires of the cage (which run along the long side of the tank) are too wide for my tank. I think the "perfect fit" is when those wires meet the rim of the tank. In my case this wasn't possible, so the wires that 'hold' the topper to the top of the tank run along the shorter sides of the tank. They rest on a black bezel. However, this "fit" would not have been possible without reinforcing the cage with zip ties at each corner (I used red and green - see photo). Without them, the panel would be very unstable and potentially a hazard to the animals as the sides could move apart a bit. That's why I gave it 3 stars - zip ties are a must (if your tank might not allow them). what "perfect" is). As accessories I only used two platforms and a longer bridge. I put a piece of wood on top of the bridge to give it more support. Wheel. My girls are very happy with the setup and I'm glad they can dig freely in the ground without digging into their food.
