I have a 1 inch slanted laptop stand. At first, I was concerned that the 7/8 inch tall ledges on the bottom wouldn't protect the laptop well enough. Luckily, the mount has two mounting configurations, so you can mount it horizontally or tilted forward. By using the low profile configuration, I'm confident my laptop will stay in place. My laptop is also heavy, almost 9 pounds, so the 4/5 stars is due to only using the top 4 screw holes for attachment to the VESA plate. I'm guessing these are the top two images for 100x100 and the top two for 75x75. It doesn't seem as robust as I'd like, but time will tell. Another review mentioned that the side arms don't move easily and I agree, but it doesn't cause much inconvenience and actually gives me a bit more security. I definitely recommend this product.
