I bought this crib insert without thinking twice because it was recommended by the moms on duty. As I installed it I noticed that the mesh was thicker and softer than I expected and the overlap between the two panels at each end created an even thicker area. So I googled the product and found that AAP recommends not using all bumpers and liners, including those made of mesh, like this one. The death toll is small, but serious injuries from a limb being trapped between the bars are even rarer. There is no need for such a product so I will be returning it although it was quite well made.
