This is the best value printer on the market today, whether you're a small home office or a medium-sized business. I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews about this printer being difficult to set up. We don't have an "IT department" as we wanted to use this printer for my husband's personal business. But after analyzing the entire printer market, this HP PageWide had the most features at the best price. So, here's the thing: you don't need an IT department to set up this printer. You just need common sense. The printer comes with disks for the printer driver. Depending on which version of Windows you are using, you will most likely need to update your printer drivers online. If you're not sure how to do this or are having trouble setting up your printer, simply call HP Printer Support at 1-800-334-5144. You will need to tell them your printer's model (PageWide 577) and serial number, which can be found on the back of the printer. Support is free as the printer is new. We run Windows 7 Ultimate on a local network and connect the printer wirelessly. The HP technical support representative was very helpful. The technician loaded another HP printer driver on our computer and everything works great: printer, copier, scanner and fax. Also, if you lose power in your office or home, the printer stops working because it changes IP address. If you can't get the printer up and running after a power outage, just call tech support. They help you reset your printer's IP address and make it permanent so you don't have to reset it when you turn it off again. So, even if you're new to computers like us, just give HP support a call and you'll be up and running with your state-of-the-art printer. Best of all, they respond to HP tech support questions very quickly and the agents are very nice. Our latest HP printer has lasted over 10 years. We are very happy with this new model.
