Review on πŸ“· Spider Holster - SpiderLight Camera Holster Set - Efficiently Access and Secure Your Camera On-The-Go, Attached to Any Belt! by John Swain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best system I've found for carrying a small to medium sized camera on the go!

Notes: I have successfully paired this with a Kiwifotos Arca-Swiss compatible tilt head (4332017151) on a monopod for clearer footage while walking in nature. The Spider mounting plate fits right into the head, so there's no extra junk to mess with. The holster uses a clip that is worn on the belt - it is best to combine it with a fairly massive belt. I use it with a LL Bean bison leather belt, works great. Complaints: - It's overpriced as it's a fairly basic device - $65-75 seems more reasonable - The plate attached to the camera base tends to come loose on its own unless you unplug the little D -Ring for screw really tight on not easy - something that offers better leverage to tighten or a screw that holds better would be a welcome improvement. and you can stow/unstow it with one hand once you get used to it - I don't know of a better system - apart from the fixing screw issue mentioned above, this is a well designed, quality kit.

Pros
  • βœ… SELF-LOCKING DESIGN: The holster automatically locks when the plate is inserted. The thumb lock can be set to automatically lock or unlock.
Cons
  • No power
