My Chemex Kettle was starting to turn an alarming rust color. No soaking or brushing of the bottles helped solve the problem. But the beads in this set work! I filled the kettle with 50% water and 50% white distilled vinegar, then added about 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. After 5 minutes I poured out most of the mixture and added beads. After about 4 minutes of rotation, the glass will be sparkling clean and transparent!
