This is the best filter available. Period. BUT there is a small downside. Some people report an odor after some use. This ONLY happens when it's time to change it. If these people measured their water with the ZeroWater kit, they would know. The REASON for the smell is that this filter filters EVERYTHING 100% unlike other brands. No other brand can do this BUT the downside is that it has to be changed frequently. For me I have to replace it once a month. AND IT NEVER SMELL because I measure the water quality, as soon as it goes above 007 ppb I change it. FYI: PUR water filters measure over 30 ppb. It's the same as a regular water bottle. Therefore it lasts much longer. ZeroWater gives you a PERFECT 000 ppb when new, but the filter is larger and wears out much quicker. FREQUENTLY. But do NOT take my word for it. Use a meter and check for yourself. Unfiltered New Jersey tap water levels range from 190 to 260 ppb. It's much higher in New York, so it's obvious that in some places the filter will be used up much faster. One way to save money and avoid this is to filter your tap water first with a cheap filter like Pur or Brita and get the number above 200 down to fewer. than 50. THEN put that water in a ZeroWater filter. When you do this, it lasts 6 TIMES LONGER and you always end up with MUCH cleaner water than you can get from anything, including bottled water. CHECK YOURSELF. The ZeroWater measuring pen is supplied with the main unit or purchased separately. It's cheap and worth it.
