This first thing I noticed about this pan, is that the non-stick surface is very different than what I'm accustomed to. It is rough and bumpy, like the surface of a cast iron pan. The outside of the pan is shiny stainless steel, and the pan is very heavy. The handle is also steel, which makes the whole pan oven safe. It's a deep pan, which I love, and a feature I look for in frying pans. Less of a chance of contents spilling out of the pan and less splatters to clean.The pan heats evenly, and I haven't had any issues with anything sticking. Although you can use metal utensils, the product label warns against using forks and sharp knives in the cookware. Ninja advertises that the non-stick surface will last a lifetime if used properly; if you read the fine print, they estimate the lifetime of the pan to be five years. So this will not be the last non-stick pan you ever buy.At the time of this review, the price is $47.99 and the pan does not come with a lid. For not much more, you can step up to the 12-inch hard anodized never stick pan with two handles and a lid. This pan would be my preference.
